We are delighted to announce the arrival of the Moodle Educator Certification (MEC) program. The MEC is designed for teachers, instructors and trainers who are looking to develop their digital competencies and to advance their Moodle skills. The MEC Program equips attendees with the skills necessary to fully utilise the scale power and flexibility of the Moodle platform.
MEC Course Information
- All MEC content and assessments are carried out online – you can complete the MEC from wherever you are in the world as long as you have a computer and an internet connection – simple!
- The course is asynchronous – there is no requirement to be online at a set time – fully flexible to fit your schedule.
- You have a MEC facilitator + assessor assigned to you at the start – consistent support.
- Each MEC assignment (one each week for 6 weeks) will take approximately 5 hours each week for you to complete. You must keep up-to-date week by week to be successful.
Please note: Taking the MEC course is not appropriate for new Moodle users. MEC will not teach the user how to use Moodle.
What does the MEC Course content include?
MEC currently consists of 6 modules with two design challenges that are practical exercises within each module. The six modules are:
Align learning objectives and learning activities with appropriate Moodle tools for assessment
Focus on innovative ways to use Moodle to reflect on progress and inform future learning
Respond to learners’ diverse needs and ensure accessibility to learning resources and activities
Manage content and teaching interventions to implement activities that reinforce learning objectives
Track performance to evaluate, assess, and provide feedback to inform future learning
Enable the exchange of knowledge and resources to foster learner collaboration and peer learning
The Process: How do I get started?
In order for us to facilitate your journey towards Moodle Educator Certification, we would like to discuss this with you to identify the best way to help you achieve this goal in the simplest way possible.
Additional Information and Future Developments
To learn more about enrolment options and module offerings please contact one of our MEC specialists for further information.
Currently, the MEC content is delivered primarily through English. In the near future, we are hoping to develop the course into 5 languages. Also, there are future plans to develop the course module from the current 6 to 22 modules.
