Mahara is an open source platform, integrating tools for reflection on your learning, used as a personal space of information and content. Mahara can be seamlessly integrated with Moodle.
It also contributes to the learners’ personal development, allowing them to build and share their reflective activities with other users – peers, teachers, employers – or communities and interact with them, especially via social networks such as forums and blogs. Used with Moodle or Totara, Mahara creates a complete digital learning environment.
Mahara’s ePortfolio allows learners to document their achievements and provide evidence of their skills. Learners can add documentation, media files or simply create links to sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. The people with whom the learner wants to share his artefacts are either other Mahara users, members of a group or even people outside of Mahara. It can therefore be used in the context of training and apprenticeship for the validation of competences, including continuing education, reflective practices or socio-professional interactions through the sharing of CVs with potential employers.
